The first caravan of former internally displaced persons (IDPs) has arrived in the Boyuk Galaderesi village of the Shusha district, marking a significant step in the ongoing resettlement process.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, this stage of the relocation program saw 14 families, totaling 64 people, move to Boyuk Galaderesi. These families had been temporarily residing in various parts of Azerbaijan, primarily in dormitories, sanatoriums, and administrative buildings, since being displaced. Returning residents expressed their deep gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva for the comprehensive state care, as well as to the heroic Azerbaijani Army for liberating their native lands.
The relocation is part of Azerbaijan's "Great Return" state program, which aims to reconstruct and repopulate the territories liberated during the 2020 Patriotic War. The government of Azerbaijan is actively rebuilding infrastructure, residential areas, and public facilities across the Garabagh region to ensure a safe and sustainable return for thousands of former IDPs.
