Paşinyan: İnternetin Azərbaycan üzərindən tranziti təhdid deyil

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has stated that he does not perceive any security threat in the transit of internet traffic through the territory of Azerbaijan.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing Armenian media reports, Pashinyan made these remarks while responding to questions from journalists regarding regional connectivity.

Pashinyan emphasized that the transit of internet traffic does not create a dependency on Azerbaijan for Armenia. "We consistently state that Armenia should become a transit hub. The more traffic that passes through Armenia, the higher our economic, political, and security standing will be. Those who oppose this want Armenia to remain in a conflict-driven deadlock," the Prime Minister stated.

This development follows a significant agreement signed on June 22, when "AzerTelecom" and "Telecom Armenia" finalized a bilateral deal regarding the transit of international internet traffic through Azerbaijani territory. This initiative is viewed as a practical step toward regional integration, aligning with broader efforts to unlock communication channels in the South Caucasus, a process that has been a focal point of diplomatic discussions between Baku and Yerevan to ensure long-term stability and economic cooperation in the region.
