Starting today, the Bakikhanov station has been added to the schedule of express trains operating on the Sumgait–Baku route. This update is designed to further expand the daily commuting options for passengers traveling between the two cities.
According to information provided by Azerbaijan Railways CJSC to the Operative Information Center-OMM, express trains departing at 07:30 and 08:00 on this line will now make a scheduled stop at the Bakikhanov station. This change is expected to significantly increase convenience for commuters heading to the capital during morning peak hours.
In addition to the morning updates, a new stop has been introduced for evening services. The express train departing from Baku toward Sumgait via the Pirshaghi line at 18:05 will now make an additional stop at the Sabunchu station. These adjustments are part of a broader effort to ensure more flexible and accessible passenger transportation along the Sumgait–Baku railway corridor.
The modernization of the Baku-Sumgait railway line is a key component of Azerbaijan's strategy to improve urban mobility and reduce traffic congestion in the Absheron Peninsula.
