The Intelligent Transport Management Center (ITMC) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has issued an official appeal to drivers regarding road safety and traffic regulations in Baku.

According to information provided by the ITMC to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the appeal emphasizes that many road accidents occur due to driver impatience and haste. The Center noted that starting movement before the green light fully illuminates, or attempting to cross during the yellow signal just seconds before the red light appears, frequently results in serious collisions. Drivers are reminded that the red signal, whether solid or flashing, strictly prohibits movement, while the yellow signal serves as a warning that signals are about to change and also prohibits entry into the intersection. Motorists must wait for the green signal before proceeding.

The ITMC further stressed that compliance with traffic light signals is a mandatory requirement under Article 60 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Road Traffic." Failure to follow these regulations not only incurs legal penalties but also poses a significant risk to public safety. The Intelligent Transport Management Center plays a critical role in monitoring Baku's urban infrastructure, utilizing advanced surveillance and data analysis to optimize traffic flow and reduce congestion across the capital's major arteries.
