A new shipment of transit cargo from Russia to Armenia is being transported through the territory of Azerbaijan. According to Operative Information Center-OMM, four wagons of fertilizer totaling 271 tons and one wagon of buckwheat weighing 68 tons are scheduled to be dispatched from the Bilajari station toward Boyuk Kasik on March 24.
Official data indicates that this transit route has become a functional corridor for essential goods. To date, more than 23,000 tons of grain and over 700 tons of fertilizer have been transported to Armenia via this specific railway infrastructure in Azerbaijan.
The utilization of Azerbaijan's railway network for transit purposes underscores the country's growing role as a regional logistics hub. The Bilajari-Boyuk Kasik line is a critical component of the East-West transport corridor, facilitating the movement of goods across the South Caucasus. This transit cooperation aligns with broader efforts to restore regional economic and transport links, providing a shorter and more efficient route for the delivery of agricultural and industrial supplies between neighboring states.
