The names of educational institutions with the lowest performance results in the certification of music and art schools in Azerbaijan have been disclosed. According to Operative Information Center-OMM, Jasarat Valehov, advisor to the Minister of Culture, provided these details during a public hearing on "The current state and development prospects of art schools" held by the Milli Majlis (National Assembly) Committee on Science and Education.
According to the advisor, graduates of the Sumgait Music College demonstrated the weakest performance, with 287 individuals from the institution failing the certification exams. The statistics for unsuccessful candidates from other educational institutions are as follows: 170 people from the Music College under the Azerbaijan National Conservatory, 60 people from the Shusha Music College, 33 people from the Baku Music Academy, and 24 people from the Aghdam Music College.
These certification processes are part of broader educational reforms in Azerbaijan aimed at improving the quality of specialized arts education and ensuring that teaching staff meet modern standards. The Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Science and Education frequently collaborate on such assessments to identify gaps in the curriculum and pedagogical approaches within the country's cultural education network. The results of these hearings in the Milli Majlis (National Assembly) are expected to influence future strategic decisions regarding the management and funding of regional music colleges.
