Jabbar Musayev has been appointed as the new Prime Minister of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the decision was adopted by the Ali Majlis (Supreme Assembly) of Nakhchivan based on a nomination submitted by President Ilham Aliyev.
Jabbar Musayev was born on January 10, 1981, in the city of Nakhchivan. He received his higher education in Ankara and graduated with honors from the Azerbaijan State University of Economics in 2007 with a Master's degree in Finance and Credit. He holds a PhD in Economics. Throughout his career, Musayev served in various capacities at the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies from 2004 to 2013. He later served as the deputy director of the High Tech Park LLC and, since April 2016, held the position of Chief of Staff at the State Statistical Committee. On November 4, 2024, he was appointed as the Head of the Nakhchivan City Executive Power by the decree of President Ilham Aliyev.
The Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic is a landlocked exclave of the Republic of Azerbaijan, governed by its own legislature and cabinet under the constitutional framework of Azerbaijan. The appointment of a new Prime Minister is a significant administrative step aimed at enhancing the socio-economic development and governance efficiency of the region.
