NATO generalı: Rusiya alyansla münaqişə axtarmır

NATO's Allied Air Command commander, US General Alexus Grynkewych, has stated that Russia is not seeking a direct conflict with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

According to Operative Information Center-OMM, citing reports from TASS, the general made these remarks during an aviation event held in Germany. Grynkewych emphasized that, based on his assessment of intelligence data, Moscow currently has no intention of engaging in a confrontation with the alliance.

"I have looked very closely at the intelligence. Russia is not seeking a conflict. The Russians truly understand the definition of a 'defensive alliance' and they also understand that we have some asymmetric advantages," Grynkewych stated. His comments were also highlighted by the Financial Times.

These assessments align with recent statements from Russian President Vladimir Putin, who, during a meeting with heads of leading global news agencies, dismissed claims that his country is preparing an attack against Europe. Putin characterized such allegations as "nonsense" and described them as disinformation campaigns intended to mislead public opinion.

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization, established in 1949, operates on the principle of collective defense, where an attack against one member is considered an attack against all. Tensions between Russia and NATO have remained elevated since the escalation of the conflict in Ukraine, leading to increased military presence and strategic posturing on both sides of the alliance's eastern flank.
