French Finance Minister Roland Lescure stated on Wednesday that there are currently no plans to release strategic oil reserves into the market.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the minister noted that while the issue could be discussed in the coming weeks, no official decision has been reached yet. This statement comes as the International Energy Agency (IEA) highlights the impact of Middle East tensions, particularly conflict risks involving Iran, on the global oil market. The agency's report further indicates that global oil supply may struggle to meet total demand throughout the current year.

The global energy market remains highly sensitive to geopolitical developments in the Middle East, a region critical for international oil transit and production. Strategic reserves are typically maintained by major economies to mitigate sudden supply disruptions or extreme price volatility. France, as a leading member of the IEA, coordinates its energy security policies with international partners to ensure stability within the Eurozone and the broader global economy during periods of heightened geopolitical uncertainty.
