President Ilham Aliyev has approved the Law on amendments to the Labor Code and the Law "On Education" of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the new legislation mandates that the theoretical and practical knowledge of educators working in children's music, art, and drawing schools, as well as other state educational institutions under the Ministry of Culture, will now be evaluated through a specialized certification process instead of the previous attestation system.
The transition to certification is designed to ensure transparency, comparability of results, and high reliability in assessing the theoretical knowledge, experience, and professional suitability of teaching staff. This reform aims to foster the development of the state educational institution network and achieve a significant increase in the overall quality of education within the cultural sector of Azerbaijan.
The certification process also envisions a regular update of subject-specific knowledge, which will encourage continuous professional development and the constant improvement of professional skills among educators. In Azerbaijan, such educational reforms are part of a broader national strategy to modernize vocational and specialized training, ensuring that the country's rich musical and artistic traditions are passed on through high-standard pedagogical practices.
