"Russia expects the trilateral talks on resolving the conflict with the United States and Ukraine to resume."
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the remarks.
According to Peskov, intensive diplomatic work is currently under way.
He said US representatives had traveled to Moscow and Kyiv in recent days to discuss the positions of the parties:
"Moscow hopes that progress will be achieved in this process."
Peskov also said Russia expected talks involving Russian, Ukrainian and US representatives to resume in a trilateral format.
US President's special envoy Steve Witkoff and US official Jared Kushner visited Moscow and Kyiv on September 5-6, according to previous reports.
Following the meetings, Witkoff said significant progress had been made in the negotiations and that steps were being taken toward holding a new trilateral meeting.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also said his meetings with US representatives had been productive and that Ukraine was ready to resume trilateral talks.
