The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Azerbaijan has extended its congratulations to Syria on the occasion of the country's National Day.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the ministry shared a congratulatory message on its official account on the X social media platform.
"On the occasion of the National Day of Syria, we sincerely congratulate the government and people of Syria and convey our best wishes. Happy National Day, Syria!" the MFA stated in the post.
Syria's National Day, also known as Evacuation Day, is celebrated annually on April 17 to commemorate the departure of the last French soldier and the country's proclamation of full independence in 1946. Azerbaijan and Syria have maintained diplomatic relations since the early 1990s, following Azerbaijan's restoration of independence. The two countries continue to engage within the framework of international organizations, including the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement, based on the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity.
