President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree amending the "Rules for granting mortgage loans, including subsidized mortgage loans, at the expense of the Mortgage and Credit Guarantee Fund." Under the new regulations, judges in Azerbaijan with at least three years of professional experience are now eligible to apply for subsidized mortgage loans.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the amendment updates the previous framework established by the presidential decree dated June 22, 2016. This move aims to improve the social welfare and housing conditions of judicial officials, ensuring greater stability and support for those serving in the legal system of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The Mortgage and Credit Guarantee Fund was established to facilitate long-term housing finance and provide state guarantees for business loans. By expanding the list of eligible recipients for subsidized mortgages, the government continues its policy of strengthening social protection for civil servants and legal professionals, following similar initiatives for other public sector employees in the country.
