The Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan has issued a formal warning regarding the spread of inaccurate and unverified information on social media platforms concerning ongoing military operations in the Middle East.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the agency highlighted an increase in disinformation risks aimed at creating public confusion through manipulative content.

The statement emphasized that media entities must demonstrate high professionalism when navigating the information flow on social media. The agency stressed that content from suspicious sources or material of a manipulative nature should not be disseminated. "We call on all media subjects, journalists, and public activists to rely exclusively on official sources in their activities, to refrain from posts that cause public anxiety, and to avoid instances of information manipulation," the statement read.

The Media Development Agency (MEDIA) was established in Azerbaijan to support the development of the media sector, enhance the professionalism of journalists, and ensure the security of the national information space. In the context of global conflicts, Azerbaijani authorities frequently emphasize the importance of information hygiene to protect the public from psychological warfare and false narratives that could impact national stability or international relations.
