The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan has announced the commencement of document submissions for the financing of education abroad at the bachelor's and master's levels under the "Special Scholarship Program for Cultural and Creative Industries."
This information was provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the Ministry.
The Scholarship Program is being implemented in accordance with the Action Plan of the "Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022–2026," specifically targeting the "ensuring dynamic development of Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI) and strengthening export potential in this field."
Furthermore, the initiative aligns with the "Azerbaijan Culture – 2040" Concept and its 2026–2030 Action Plan, which aims to train professional personnel in cultural sectors through international education programs. The goal is to cultivate a reserve of creative and innovative professionals capable of meeting the demands of the modern labor market in the cultural sector.
The Ministry stated that citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who are over 15 years of age, have been admitted to foreign higher education institutions, or are already studying abroad at their own expense, and wish to develop their creative potential within the CCI sector, are eligible to apply.
Funding is available for education abroad in the following specialized areas:
- Audiovisual (music, cinema including animation, videography and photography, gaming industry)
- Fashion design
- Design
- Curatorship
- Architecture
- Event management
- Management in cultural and creative fields
- Publishing organization
- Theater, comedy, and performance
- Creative technologies
- Arts (fine, applied, and performing arts)
The selection process for the Scholarship Program consists of two stages: document evaluation and an interview. The application process is conducted electronically via the mystart.az information resource. The deadline for document submission is June 16.
This scholarship initiative represents a significant investment by the Azerbaijani government in human capital, aiming to integrate local talent into the global creative economy and enhance the country's cultural influence internationally.
