The Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) of the Republic of Azerbaijan has issued a renewed appeal to citizens regarding the strict observance of safety regulations at beaches. The ministry emphasized the importance of adhering to safety protocols, particularly during adverse weather conditions.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the ministry stated that despite extensive public awareness campaigns and repeated warnings about the dangers of swimming in windy weather or in non-designated areas, some individuals continue to disregard safety rules, leading to serious consequences.

The ministry highlighted a recent drowning incident that occurred in an uncontrolled area known as "Dachnik" in the Bilgah settlement of the Sabunchu district. This incident, which took place during windy weather, serves as a stark reminder of the necessity of following safety guidelines.

The MES has urged citizens to refrain from entering the sea during windy weather, to avoid swimming in non-designated areas, and to strictly follow the instructions and demands of lifeguards. "Remember: Negligence toward safety rules is a threat to your life!" the ministry emphasized in its statement.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds the public that in case of an emergency, they should immediately contact the 112 hotline. The MES is responsible for disaster management, fire safety, and water rescue operations across Azerbaijan, playing a critical role in public safety during the summer season when beach attendance increases significantly.
