The number of casualties from Israeli airstrikes across Lebanon has increased significantly over the past day.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Lebanese Ministry of Health issued a statement on the X social media platform, confirming that at least 52 people were killed and 154 others wounded in aerial bombardments during the last 24 hours.
The ministry noted that by midday, the toll stood at 31 dead and 149 injured. However, following intensified evening bombardments, rescue operations continue in the Jnah district and around Burj al-Barajneh, where officials expect the number of fatalities to rise as teams clear the rubble.
The escalation comes amid a broader regional conflict that has seen intensified military operations in Lebanese territory. International observers have expressed growing concern over the humanitarian impact of the strikes, which have targeted various urban centers and suburbs. The ongoing hostilities represent one of the most significant periods of instability in the region in recent years, leading to mass displacements and a mounting strain on Lebanon's healthcare infrastructure.
