Potential aggression by the United States against Cuba could lead to serious consequences for Washington, as Havana remains fully prepared to defend the country's territorial integrity, Cuban President and Chairman of the National Defense Council Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez has stated.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Cuban leader emphasized the importance of military preparedness as a primary deterrent. "The best way to avoid aggression is to force imperialism to calculate the cost of an attack on our country, and this is directly related to our level of preparation for military operations," he noted during his address.

The statement comes amid long-standing geopolitical tensions between Havana and Washington. Historically, Cuba has maintained a doctrine of "War of All the People," a defensive strategy designed to mobilize the entire population in the event of foreign intervention. Relations between the two nations have remained complex, particularly following the reinstatement of various sanctions and the ongoing diplomatic friction regarding regional security and political influence in the Caribbean. Under the current administration of US President Donald Trump, the United States has maintained a firm stance regarding its foreign policy in the Western Hemisphere.
