Leyla Aliyeva is currently on a visit to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, where she has engaged in a series of cultural and educational exchanges.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Leyla Aliyeva was welcomed by Ethiopia's Minister of Planning and Development, Fitsum Assefa Adela. In honor of the guest, a traditional coffee ceremony reflecting Ethiopia's ancient and rich culture was organized. During the event, the guests were briefed on the intricate details of this historic ritual, which concluded with the presentation of freshly brewed Ethiopian coffee, renowned for its unique aroma and flavor.

Following the ceremony, Leyla Aliyeva visited the Ethiopia Science Museum, where she was received by Alemtsehay Paulos, Head of the Prime Minister's Office and Minister of Cabinet Affairs. It was noted that the museum, inaugurated in October 2022, spans seven hectares, with 80 percent of the area dedicated to green space. The complex consists of two magnificent buildings designed to serve as a research center, preserving both ancient and modern technologies for future generations.

Constructed at the initiative of Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, the complex features modern interactive exhibits dedicated to science and technology, a planetarium, and eco-friendly design elements such as solar panels. The museum aims to promote innovation and digital skills among the youth and serves as a vital hub for technological events and conferences. To date, the facility has attracted 7 million children, standing as a cornerstone of Ethiopia's digital transformation efforts while showcasing the country's national heritage.

Diplomatic and cultural relations between Azerbaijan and Ethiopia have seen steady growth in recent years, with both nations seeking to expand cooperation in education, technology, and environmental protection. Such high-level visits play a crucial role in strengthening bilateral ties and fostering mutual understanding between the South Caucasus and East Africa.
