Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, has met with His Majesty King Mswati III of Eswatini.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the meeting was also attended by Prince Lindani Dlamini of Eswatini and Senator Pholile Shakantu, the country's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
Recalling his meeting with the President of Azerbaijan during his visit with satisfaction, King Mswati III extended his congratulations on the high-level organization of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13). Leyla Aliyeva expressed her gratitude for the congratulations and kind words, noting that WUF13 serves as a successful platform for exchanging experience in urban planning among various countries worldwide.
The parties emphasized the existence of strong opportunities for the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Eswatini. During the conversation, the sides discussed prospects for potential cooperation between the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Eswatini across various humanitarian and social sectors.
The World Urban Forum (WUF), established by the United Nations in 2001, is the premier global conference on sustainable urbanization. The 13th session continues Azerbaijan's track record of hosting major international summits, following the country's successful chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement and its preparations for other global climate and urban development initiatives. These high-level meetings aim to foster diplomatic ties and promote sustainable development goals between Azerbaijan and African nations.
