Security forces in Kuwait have detained 16 individuals linked to the radical Hezbollah group during a targeted operation.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Al Arabiya television channel released the information, citing the country's Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to official statements, the detainees include 14 Kuwaiti citizens and two Lebanese nationals. During the operation, security agencies confiscated weapons, drones equipped with cameras, and specialized communication devices used for Morse code transmissions.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that the group aimed to undermine stability within the country and was actively involved in recruiting individuals to join the terrorist organization. The suspects are currently under investigation to determine the full extent of their planned activities and potential international connections.
Hezbollah, a Lebanese-based Shia militant group and political party, has long been a subject of security concern across the Gulf region. Kuwait has previously intensified its counter-terrorism efforts to prevent the infiltration of foreign-backed cells seeking to disrupt national security. This latest crackdown follows a series of regional measures aimed at neutralizing threats posed by non-state actors and extremist networks in the Middle East.
