The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has announced the detention of an alleged agent of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in Crimea.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that a resident of Yalta, born in 1993, is accused of voluntarily establishing contact with representatives of the Ukrainian special services.

According to official statements, the individual followed instructions from a handler to transmit sensitive information regarding Russian Black Sea Fleet facilities to electronic resources controlled by the SBU via the Telegram messaging application.

A criminal case has been initiated against the detainee under the charge of high treason. Under this legislation, the suspect faces a potential sentence of up to 20 years in prison.

The suspect has been remanded in custody as investigative measures continue. This incident occurs amid heightened security measures in the region, where Russian authorities frequently report the apprehension of individuals suspected of espionage or sabotage activities linked to the ongoing conflict. The Black Sea Fleet, headquartered in Sevastopol, remains a primary strategic asset and a frequent focal point for intelligence gathering and military operations in the Black Sea basin.
