Reports from the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service regarding the intentions of London and Paris to transfer nuclear weapons to Kyiv are extremely dangerous and will be taken into account during negotiations regarding Ukraine.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that these remarks were made by Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov. He emphasized that such a move would constitute a gross violation of all norms and principles of relevant international law.
"We will certainly take this information into account in the ongoing negotiations, as it is potentially extremely dangerous," Peskov stated. This follows earlier claims by the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) alleging that the United Kingdom and France are preparing to provide Kyiv with nuclear weapons and delivery systems.
The allegations come amid heightened geopolitical tensions and ongoing diplomatic efforts to address the conflict in Ukraine. The potential proliferation of nuclear capabilities in the region is viewed by Moscow as a significant escalation that undermines international security frameworks. Historically, the transfer of nuclear technology and weaponry is strictly regulated by the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), to which the UK, France, and Russia are all signatories.
