Hashd al-Shaabi accuses US and Saudi Arabia of joint attacks

The Hashd al-Shaabi forces, operating in Iraq, have alleged that they were subjected to joint attacks by the United States and Saudi Arabia. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the organization issued a statement claiming that airstrikes targeted their official centers across the provinces of Baghdad, Wasit, Nineveh, Basra, Kirkuk, Karbala, and Diyala.

The statement indicated that the attacks caused significant damage to several facilities, military equipment, and vehicles belonging to the organization. Assessments of the damage and investigations into the details of the incident are currently underway in the affected areas.

Preliminary reports suggest that at least 20 members of Hashd al-Shaabi were killed in the strikes, with 32 others sustaining injuries of varying severity. Hashd al-Shaabi, also known as the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), is a state-sponsored umbrella organization composed of various militias in Iraq, which has played a significant role in the country's security landscape since its formation in 2014.
