Veysal Rzayev, a 24-year-old player for the Ganja-based Kapaz football club, has been hospitalized after sustaining a knife wound in Ganja.

The Ganja Regional Group of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) told Operative Information Center-OMM that Rzayev, a Baku resident born in 2002, was stabbed during a personal dispute. The victim was immediately transported to a hospital, where his condition is reported as moderate-to-severe. Law enforcement agencies have launched an investigation, and operational measures are underway to identify and apprehend the suspect involved in the incident.

Kapaz PFK, based in Azerbaijan's second-largest city, Ganja, is one of the country's most historic football clubs, having been founded in 1959. The club competes in the Azerbaijan Premier League and plays its home matches at the Ganja City Stadium. This incident has caused significant concern within the local sporting community, as the Ministry of Internal Affairs continues to prioritize public safety and the swift resolution of criminal investigations across the Republic of Azerbaijan.
