Kaya Kallas tarix kitabları oxuyur: "Daha ağıllı olacağam"

Kaja Kallas, the European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, has revealed that she is extensively reading history books in hopes of becoming more informed and effective in her role.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Kallas made these remarks while answering journalists' questions during a press conference following a meeting of EU foreign ministers. The diplomat emphasized that understanding the historical roots of global conflicts is essential for navigating current international relations.

The politician noted that her reading list is quite extensive, covering the histories of various regions currently facing geopolitical challenges. While Kallas declined to name specific titles she is currently reading, she expressed optimism that this deep dive into historical literature would allow her to be "much smarter" in her decision-making process once she completes her studies. These comments came in response to a journalist's suggestion to gift her a book specifically on Syrian history.

Kaja Kallas, the former Prime Minister of Estonia, assumed her role as the EU's top diplomat during a period of significant global instability. The High Representative's focus on historical context reflects a broader effort within the European External Action Service to better understand complex regional dynamics, including those in the Middle East and Eastern Europe. As the EU seeks to strengthen its geopolitical influence, such academic preparation is viewed as a tool for more nuanced diplomatic engagement on the world stage.
