The death toll from a tragic armed attack on a school in the Kahramanmaras province of Türkiye has risen to 10, following the passing of another victim in the hospital.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, citing Haber Global, Yusuf Tarik Gul, who was seriously injured during the incident, passed away despite intensive medical efforts to save his life. This latest fatality brings the total number of victims to 10. The shooting, which occurred on April 15, resulted in the deaths of one teacher and nine students.
Kahramanmaras, located in southern Türkiye, has been under a state of mourning since the incident took place. Local authorities and law enforcement agencies continue to investigate the motives behind the assault, while security measures at educational institutions across the region have been significantly heightened. This tragedy follows a period of recovery for the province, which was one of the areas most severely affected by the devastating earthquakes in February 2023.
