On February 24, Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held a significant meeting aimed at strengthening trilateral cooperation in the region. The Minister received delegations led by Fuat Oktay, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (TBMM), and Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Parliament of Georgia.

According to information provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) to Operative Information Center-OMM, the meeting focused on the current state and future development prospects of the Azerbaijan–Türkiye alliance and the Azerbaijan–Georgia strategic partnership. The parties also paid special attention to security issues within the broader region.

During the meeting, the importance of expanding inter-parliamentary relations was emphasized. In particular, it was noted with satisfaction that the 10th trilateral meeting of the foreign relations committees of the parliaments of Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Georgia has provided a new impetus to these relations. The parties stated that, alongside parliaments, trilateral cooperation formats at the level of foreign and defense ministers play a decisive role in ensuring peace, stability, and prosperity in the region. The main agenda of the discussions included energy security, transport-communication projects, and the development of the strategically important Middle Corridor.

Furthermore, an exchange of views took place regarding the establishment of sustainable peace in the region during the post-conflict period and the role of parliamentary diplomacy in this process. Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed his colleagues about the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace and normalization process, highlighting the steps taken by official Baku and the current expectations for a final agreement.

The trilateral partnership between Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Georgia serves as a cornerstone for regional integration in the South Caucasus. This cooperation is anchored by major international projects, including the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline and the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, which link the Caspian Sea to European markets. The development of the Middle Corridor (Trans-Caspian International Transport Route) remains a top priority for Azerbaijan as it seeks to enhance its role as a global logistics hub connecting Asia and Europe.
