Deputy foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia, Elnur Mammadov and Robert Abisoghomonyan, have met in Geneva within the framework of the 61st session of the UN Human Rights Council.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing the MFA, that the meeting took place as a continuation of contacts previously conducted at a higher political level.
During the discussions, the deputy ministers explored potential confidence-building measures within the framework of multilateral platforms and international organizations. The sides exchanged views on future steps aimed at fostering regional stability and cooperation through international diplomatic channels.

The UN Human Rights Council sessions in Geneva serve as a critical global forum for member states to address human rights issues and engage in bilateral diplomacy. Such meetings between Azerbaijani and Armenian officials are part of an ongoing process to normalize relations and address post-conflict challenges in the South Caucasus. These diplomatic engagements are essential for establishing a sustainable peace framework and ensuring long-term security in the region.
