Eight individuals who had gone missing in the complex mountainous-forested terrain of the Istisu settlement in the Lankaran district have been successfully rescued.
According to the "Operative Information Center-OMM", the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) reported that the incident occurred when the group lost their way in the difficult terrain.
Following a call to the Ministry's "112" hotline, rescue teams from the Southern Regional Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were immediately dispatched to the scene. Through coordinated search and rescue efforts, the teams located the eight missing persons and brought them to safety.
The search operation involved not only the Ministry of Emergency Situations personnel but also employees from the Forestry Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, as well as local residents who assisted in navigating the challenging landscape.
Lankaran, located in the southern part of Azerbaijan, is known for its picturesque mountainous and forest landscapes, which attract numerous tourists and hikers. However, the region's complex geography often poses challenges for visitors, necessitating strict adherence to safety protocols and, in cases of emergency, rapid intervention by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, which maintains specialized regional centers across the country to ensure public safety.
