The Israeli army has carried out targeted airstrikes against Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) released information regarding the operation via its official Telegram channel.

According to the statement, Israeli air forces struck several military facilities belonging to the Hezbollah organization located in southern Lebanon. The military leadership emphasized that these measures were taken in direct response to previous rocket fire directed at Israeli territory. Specifically, the strikes on the Herbet Selem and Touline areas were a retaliatory move following Hezbollah's rocket attacks on the Shtula settlement.

The IDF noted that the targeted sites were actively used by the group for planning and executing attacks against Israel and its military personnel. The Israeli military further declared its commitment to continuing operations against perceived threats in accordance with the directives of the country's political leadership.

The border region between Israel and Lebanon has seen a significant increase in military activity and cross-border skirmishes in recent months. These developments are part of a broader regional instability that has drawn international concern. Hezbollah, a Shia militant group and political party based in Lebanon, has frequently engaged in exchanges of fire with Israeli forces, leading to heightened security measures across the Middle East. International mediators continue to call for restraint to prevent the localized conflict from expanding into a full-scale regional war.
