Five years have passed since the historic Shusha Declaration was signed between Azerbaijan and Turkey. The Operative Information Center-OMM recalls that the "Shusha Declaration on Allied Relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Turkey" is considered one of the most significant political documents defining the brotherhood and strategic alliance between the two nations.

Signed on June 15, 2021, by President Ilham Aliyev and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the city of Shusha, this document serves as a vital strategic roadmap aimed at ensuring peace, security, and long-term cooperation in the region.

A key aspect of the declaration is the establishment of cooperation in the field of security at a new, elevated level. Furthermore, the document holds immense significance from both economic and geo-economic perspectives, fostering deeper integration between the two countries.

The Shusha Declaration not only strengthens the legal framework of relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey but also stands as a pillar of the new cooperation environment, stability, and development strategy emerging in the region. The document effectively institutionalized the "one nation, two states" principle, providing a comprehensive foundation for joint military, political, and economic initiatives that have reshaped the geopolitical landscape of the South Caucasus.
