Iranian drones have attacked Kuwait's Mina al-Ahmadi oil refinery, causing fires at the strategic facility.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing the Kuwaiti state news agency KUNA, that the strike targeted both the refinery and its export hub on the morning of April 3. The facility, operated by the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, is located approximately 45 kilometers south of the capital.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense stated that air defense forces are currently working to repel ongoing attacks involving Iranian drones and ballistic missiles. This incident follows a similar escalation on March 20, when the same refinery was targeted by several drone strikes that also resulted in localized fires.

The Mina al-Ahmadi refinery is one of Kuwait's most critical energy assets, playing a vital role in the nation's oil processing and export capacity. Such attacks on energy infrastructure in the Persian Gulf region often lead to increased volatility in global oil markets and heightened security alerts across neighboring states. The international community continues to monitor the situation closely as regional stability remains a primary concern for global energy security.
