İran və ABŞ danışıqları: Tehran Vaşinqtona etimad göstərmir

"Iran is conducting negotiations with the US with extreme caution, does not trust Washington, and is prepared for any development," stated Ali Bahraini, Iran's Permanent Representative to the UN Office in Geneva, according to the Operative Information Center-OMM.

"Our country is fully prepared for any development or scenario. This is precisely why we are engaged in negotiations. Whenever we are attacked, we respond immediately. We will continue to act in the same manner," he emphasized.

Bahraini noted that Tehran is well aware of the nature of the opposing party, which dictates the cautious approach in diplomatic channels with the US:

"We know who we are negotiating with. We are conducting talks with the US with maximum caution because there is no basis to trust this country. On the contrary, we have sufficient reasons for distrust."

The diplomatic relations between Tehran and Washington have long been characterized by significant tension, primarily due to disagreements over Iran's nuclear program, regional influence, and the imposition of economic sanctions. Historically, the lack of direct diplomatic ties between the two nations has complicated communication, often leading to reliance on third-party mediators or international forums to convey positions. These latest comments from the Iranian representative underscore the persistent geopolitical friction that continues to define the bilateral relationship, as both nations navigate complex security and political challenges.
