Iran has launched a renewed attack on the massive Saudi Aramco oil refinery located in the city of Ras Tanura, Saudi Arabia.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Middle Eastern media outlets released the information, citing the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Defense.
According to official reports, the kingdom's air defense systems successfully neutralized the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) before it could reach its intended target. In a formal statement regarding the incident, the Ministry noted: "According to preliminary assessments, the attack was carried out via a UAV and resulted in no damage or casualties."
This incident follows a previous strike where Iranian Shahed-136 drones targeted the same refinery in Ras Tanura, forcing Saudi Arabia to temporarily suspend operations at the facility for several days. The Ras Tanura refinery is one of the world's largest oil stabilization and refining hubs, making it a critical node in global energy markets. Such attacks on energy infrastructure in the region often lead to fluctuations in global oil prices and heightened geopolitical tensions in the Persian Gulf.
