The Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Kazem Gharibabadi, has announced that the implementation of the agreement regarding the release of the country's frozen assets has entered an operational phase.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that, according to the official, a mechanism for the safe passage of vessels through the Strait of Hormuz has been approved within this framework.
Furthermore, a decision has been reached to establish a special group with the participation of Pakistan and Qatar to prevent conflicts within Lebanese territory. The Iranian Foreign Ministry representative noted that four specialized working groups have been formed as a result of technical negotiations.
According to the information released by the institution, these groups will operate in the following areas:
- Working group on the lifting of sanctions;
- Working group on nuclear issues;
- Working group on economic development and reconstruction;
- Working group on monitoring.
It should be recalled that on the night of June 18, a memorandum was signed remotely between Iran and the United States. The document provides for the cessation of the military confrontation that has been ongoing since February 28. The memorandum also establishes specific timeframes for the United States to lift its naval blockade, while Iran is set to fully restore shipping operations in the Strait of Hormuz.
This diplomatic development marks a significant shift in regional dynamics. The Strait of Hormuz is a critical maritime chokepoint, through which a substantial portion of the world's petroleum supply passes. Stability in this region is essential for global energy security, and the restoration of unhindered shipping is viewed as a vital step toward de-escalating tensions between Tehran and Washington, which have been strained by long-standing geopolitical disputes and economic sanctions.
