Following recent US strikes against Iran, Tehran has launched attacks on American military bases in the region and issued a stern warning to Washington. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, this was announced in a statement by the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters of the Iranian Armed Forces.
The statement warns that if the United States carries out any new military operations against the Islamic Republic of Iran, it will face a more extensive and destructive response. "The American military must understand that if it repeats any aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran, it will be subjected to more serious and large-scale attacks against specific targets in the region," the statement emphasized.
The headquarters noted that in response to US strikes in southern Iran, several American military bases in the region were targeted by the Iranian army and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). These actions were described as a retaliatory measure following US strikes on Iranian territory, which Washington justified by citing the alleged downing of American helicopters.
According to US media reports, Washington conducted airstrikes on Iranian territory in three phases following the downing of a US Apache helicopter over the Strait of Hormuz on the night of June 10. In response, the IRGC launched missile and drone attacks on military facilities associated with the US in the region.
The Strait of Hormuz is a critical maritime chokepoint, serving as the world's most important oil transit route. Tensions in the Middle East have escalated significantly, with mutual threats between Tehran and Washington raising concerns about a broader regional conflict. The ongoing exchange of fire underscores the fragility of the security situation in the Persian Gulf, a region vital to global energy supplies and international maritime trade.
