The official spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Esmaeil Baghaei, has issued a sharp statement regarding an alleged "false-flag" operation carried out by the United States in Kuwait.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing foreign media reports, Tehran alleges that the US side utilized a replica of a "Lucas" drone to strike Kuwait International Airport.
Official Tehran claims that the primary objective of this provocation is to incite security concerns among regional nations, thereby creating a pretext for the US to market its military hardware. Baghaei stated that the US used this incident as a justification to promote defense systems designed to counter unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) manufactured by the "Powerus" company.
To date, neither the US nor Kuwaiti officials have issued an official response to these allegations. International observers remain concerned that such accusations could further exacerbate geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, a region already characterized by complex security dynamics and shifting alliances.
The "false flag" accusation is a recurring theme in regional rhetoric, often used to describe covert operations designed to deceive the public into believing that a party other than the actual perpetrator is responsible for an attack. Such claims are frequently employed to influence public opinion and justify subsequent military or diplomatic maneuvers.
