A spokesperson for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi, has issued a stern warning to Washington regarding the ongoing regional tensions.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Mohebbi stated in a social media post that the United States should not expect the current pace of hostilities to remain static or evolve into a long-term war of attrition.
The IRGC spokesperson emphasized that Iran's current operations are specifically aimed at dismantling US offensive infrastructure within the region. He further cautioned that these actions are merely a precursor to a subsequent phase of operations.
This statement follows several days of strikes targeting US military bases located in Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and Oman. In response, US forces have conducted retaliatory strikes against various targets along Iran's southern coast. Notably, an attack on an Iranian military barracks in the city of Bampur on Wednesday reportedly resulted in the deaths of seven soldiers. According to an official spokesperson for the Iranian government, recent US strikes have also resulted in the deaths of more than 30 civilians.
The escalation of hostilities between Iran and the United States in the Middle East has raised significant concerns regarding regional stability. The US maintains a substantial military footprint across the Gulf states, which serves as a cornerstone of its regional security strategy, while Iran continues to exert influence through its network of regional proxies and advanced missile capabilities.
