Iran's Ambassador to Cairo, Mojtaba Ferdowsi Pour, has issued a firm response to statements made by US President Donald Trump, asserting that Tehran will not engage in negotiations while under external pressure.
The diplomat made these remarks during an interview with TASS, according to the Operative Information Center-OMM. He emphasized that Iran would not allow the United States to communicate from a position of strength. "Iran will never surrender and will not negotiate under pressure or threats of further attacks," Ferdowsi Pour stated. He further clarified that Tehran does not intend to include its missile program or its support for regional groups in any potential discussions with Washington, adding that the US must respect Iran's legal rights regarding its nuclear program.
The diplomatic standoff comes amid a long-standing period of tension between the two nations. US President Donald Trump has maintained a firm stance on Tehran's nuclear activities and regional influence, often calling for a more comprehensive agreement than the 2015 nuclear deal. Azerbaijan, which shares a border with Iran and maintains strategic relations with the United States, continues to support regional stability and diplomatic dialogue as the primary means of resolving international disputes.
