Iran has issued an official response to the military operations conducted by the United States over the past 24 hours.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Iranian Foreign Ministry released a statement strongly condemning the attacks carried out by Washington.
Tehran stated that the actions of the United States are in direct violation of the United Nations Charter and fundamental principles of international law. The Iranian Foreign Ministry emphasized that civilian residential areas were among the targets hit by US forces. Tehran characterized these strikes as a "war crime" and accused Washington of breaching existing international agreements.
The statement also included a warning to neighboring countries, with Tehran asserting that states are obligated to prevent their territories from being used for military operations against Iran. Furthermore, the Iranian side emphasized that any retaliatory measures taken against the source of these attacks would be considered within the framework of the right to "legitimate defense."
Tensions between the United States and Iran have historically fluctuated, often centering on regional influence, nuclear proliferation concerns, and military posturing in the Middle East. US President Donald Trump has consistently maintained a policy of "maximum pressure" regarding Iran, emphasizing that US military actions are intended to protect national interests and regional stability.
