A 6.2 magnitude earthquake has been recorded off the coast of Indonesia. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the data was provided by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).

The epicenter of the earthquake was located approximately 115 km north of Ternate, a city with a population of about 101,000 people. The seismic event occurred at a depth of 121 km.

Currently, there have been no reports of casualties or structural damage resulting from the tremor. Authorities have confirmed that no tsunami warning has been issued for the region.

Indonesia is situated on the "Pacific Ring of Fire," an area known for high seismic and volcanic activity due to the movement of tectonic plates. The country frequently experiences earthquakes, ranging from minor tremors to significant seismic events, necessitating robust disaster preparedness protocols and constant monitoring by national and international geological agencies.
