President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory letter to His Majesty Naruhito, the Emperor of Japan, on the occasion of the country's national holiday.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the message conveys the warmest wishes of the Azerbaijani leader to the Emperor and the people of Japan. "On my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan, I am pleased to sincerely congratulate you and, through you, your entire people on the occasion of the national holiday of Japan – your Birthday, and convey my best wishes," the letter states.
President Ilham Aliyev further wished Emperor Naruhito robust health, happiness, and success in his high activities, while wishing the friendly people of Japan constant prosperity and welfare. Relations between Azerbaijan and Japan have historically been characterized by mutual respect and cooperation across various sectors, including energy, technology, and cultural exchange. Japan was one of the first countries to recognize Azerbaijan's independence in 1991, and since then, the two nations have maintained a steady diplomatic dialogue and strong economic partnership.
