President Ilham Aliyev and the Speaker of the Slovak Parliament, Richard Raši, met in Baku to discuss the expansion of economic cooperation and new opportunities for Slovak businesses within the Azerbaijani market.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Richard Raši shared details of the meeting on his official social media account. Raši emphasized that it was an honor to meet with President Ilham Aliyev again, following the Azerbaijani leader's official visit to Slovakia in December 2025.

During the discussions in the capital, the sides reviewed the future development of the strategic partnership between Slovakia and Azerbaijan. "We spoke about energy security, the support of Slovak investments, as well as new opportunities for Slovak companies in Azerbaijan," Raši stated. He also highlighted the "smart village" project currently being implemented in Garabagh with the participation of Slovak experts, expressing satisfaction with the ability of Slovak firms to execute sophisticated modern projects abroad.

Economic relations between Azerbaijan and Slovakia have seen significant growth recently, particularly in the energy and technology sectors. As Azerbaijan continues its large-scale reconstruction efforts in the liberated territories, European partners are increasingly involved in infrastructure and urban development projects. The strategic partnership between the two nations aims to enhance trade turnover and foster long-term investment in non-oil sectors, reinforcing Baku's role as a key economic hub in the South Caucasus.
