İlham Əliyev Meloni mətbuata bəyanatlarla çıxış ediblər

On May 4, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the President of the Council of Ministers of the Italian Republic Giorgia Meloni delivered statements to the press in Baku.

The meeting between the two leaders focused on the deepening of the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Italy. The discussions covered a wide range of topics, including energy security, trade expansion, and the further development of political dialogue between the two nations. Both leaders emphasized the importance of maintaining high-level contacts to foster mutual interests in the South Caucasus and Europe.

Italy remains Azerbaijan's primary trading partner in the European Union, with the relationship underpinned by a strong energy component. Azerbaijan is a major supplier of crude oil and natural gas to Italy, particularly through the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), which is a key segment of the Southern Gas Corridor. Beyond energy, the two countries are increasingly collaborating in sectors such as infrastructure, defense, and culture, with Italian companies actively participating in restoration and construction projects in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan.
