Today, our natural gas is delivered to 10 European Union member states, which undoubtedly serves as a significant contribution to energy security, President Ilham Aliyev stated.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, citing AZERTAC, the head of state made these remarks during a joint press conference with German Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
"Considering that Azerbaijan also exports its oil to Germany and is determined to deliver its green energy to the European space in the future, cooperation in the energy sector will be very extensive," the President emphasized.
Azerbaijan has increasingly positioned itself as a critical energy partner for Europe, particularly following the diversification of energy supply routes. The country is currently developing major renewable energy projects, including wind and solar farms in the liberated territories of Garabagh and East Zangezur, which are intended to feed into the planned Black Sea energy cable project to transport green electricity to the European market.
