President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala held a one-on-one meeting in Gabala on April 27 to discuss the strengthening of bilateral relations.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Presidential Press Service reported that the leaders focused on expanding strategic partnership, energy cooperation, and economic ties between the two nations. During the talks, both parties emphasized the importance of high-level political dialogue in fostering mutual investments and trade turnover.
The meeting reflects the growing diplomatic significance of Azerbaijan as a key energy provider for Europe and a strategic partner for EU member states. Relations between Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic have seen steady growth in recent years, supported by the Declaration on Strategic Partnership signed in 2015. This visit serves as a platform to further align interests in regional security and infrastructure projects within the framework of the Southern Gas Corridor.
