İlham Əliyev Avropa Parlamentini tənqid etdi

President Ilham Aliyev has criticized the European Parliament for its biased stance and the application of double standards regarding regional developments.

According to Operative Information Center-OMM, the head of state made these remarks during the 8th European Political Community Summit. President Ilham Aliyev noted that not all European institutions demonstrate the same balanced approach to the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process as the European Commission.

The President specifically identified the European Parliament and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) as institutions lacking objectivity. President Ilham Aliyev reminded the audience that Azerbaijan has been a member of the Council of Europe since 2001, and until January 2024, no restrictions had been imposed against the country's national delegation.

The European Political Community (EPC) is an intergovernmental forum for political and strategic discussions about the future of Europe, established in 2022 following the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Azerbaijan has consistently used this platform to advocate for its territorial integrity and to call for a fair, international law-based approach to South Caucasus security, often highlighting the discrepancy between European rhetoric and the realities on the ground in the Garabagh region.
