President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, on April 17 within the framework of the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the leaders emphasized the high level of strategic partnership between the two nations. During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the further expansion of cooperation in various sectors, including defense, trade, and energy, while reaffirming their mutual support within international organizations.
The Antalya Diplomacy Forum is a high-level gathering of political leaders, diplomats, and academics aimed at addressing global and regional challenges through dialogue. Azerbaijan and Pakistan maintain a unique relationship characterized by strong political ties and a shared stance on regional security, with Pakistan being one of the first countries to recognize Azerbaijan's independence and consistently supporting its territorial integrity.
