Starting June 5 at 11:00 AM, the electronic admission process for first-grade students will transition to open (non-priority) registration for remaining vacancies in general education institutions located in Baku, Ganja, Sumgait, and the Absheron district.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the State Agency for Preschool and General Education has officially confirmed that after this date, priority rights for school and teacher selection within the Azerbaijani language sector will no longer be applied.
The list of general education institutions where priority rights were previously applied is available on the official portal at mektebeqebul.edu.az. Parents are encouraged to complete the electronic registration process promptly to secure placements for their children in the upcoming academic year.
The transition to open registration is a standard procedure in the Azerbaijani education system, designed to ensure that all remaining spots in public schools are filled efficiently after priority enrollment windows for specific categories—such as children of school staff or siblings of current students—have concluded. This centralized electronic system aims to increase transparency and accessibility in the school admission process across the country.
